2020 US President Election

United States of America is having the next Presidential election! Which is going to happen on November Third 2020. And as a Taiwanese, I never really understood how US citizens have their presidential election, so today, I'm going to learn more about it! 👏

To illustrate the US Presidential Election, there are simply two levels of votes that's going to happened. The first one is that all the citizens or whomever have the rights to vote, vote for the parties they like, Republic or Democratic. After 7 days is when the next level happens, which is when the "Electoral College" comes up. According to Wikipedia, the electoral votes will vote for the majority votes from their own states. Like California, they own 55 electoral college which is the most throughout the country. Their are total number of 538 electoral college around US and that's why President's candidate are thrilling to see the number 270 which also mean they won the election.

As I searching for more information across internet, at first I thought this system doesn't really sounds promising since the President might get elected even with a fewer citizen's vote. But after some research, I realized that this is an act of separation of powers. Tyranny of the majority means the power of majority united might eat up the rights of the minority. And United State's Law uses the electoral college system to prevent such things happened. Seems like I'm the dumb one after all. 😹

Lastly, I want to say, it does make a difference if you choose to go out and vote.
