A Smokey Week in Oregon (Corvallis)

The morning I woke up and walk to the kitchen, I thought my sister burnt something and it smells so bad in the room. I quickly noticed that the sky are so yellow and dusty, looks like I'm in the 70's cowboy movies scene you know. Then I realized that a huge stuff is being burn down quick and widespread. The particulate matter which is also known as PM2.5 has been extremely high, EPA(Environmental Protection Agency) uses this measure to monitor air quality throughout the country. Yesterday average PM2.5 was 167.7 according to the Oregon smoke blog, which we can tell from the chart below that the number lands at the box of unhealthy one. Not good at all. I feel like there's a huge BBQ party around me.

According to Statesman Journal News, the fire originally started up in Santiam Canyon because of the falling tree which unfortunately knocked down the power lines and ignite small fires. And as the historical high winds blew, the fire grows. Hope the residents and the animals stay safe and alive.

Anyhow, wish this disaster can go pass as fast as possible. 💙💙
